Red Velvet Milky Way Cookies

AHHH. This month has been busy. That is my story. Anyway, I went to a housewarming party earlier this month and volunteered to bring dessert. I still had red velvet cake mix on hand from the last time I made red velvet cake cookies, so I wanted to go that route. I browsed some red velvet cake mix recipes on Yummly (do you KNOW this site?) and found THIS GEM. I immediately left the house and bought all the Midnight Dark Milky Way bars I could carry, which, coincidentally, was 4 – exactly what I needed to make these cookies!

This is a ridiculously easy recipe, and so delicious. After explaining what they were, I had three people all exclaim that Midnight Dark Milky Way bars are their FAVORITE. So that worked out really nicely. These cookies may turn your mouth red, but it’s so worth it. The combination of all these flavors and textures is awesome. It’s like a…big bang in your mouth, almost…out of this world, you could say. Just…have some pictures now.

The colors! The nougat! The caramel! The chocolate!

Here they are sitting on their cooling racks and being all tempting. You can see how the Milky Way pieces ooze out. The only acceptable type of “oozing” in life.

Here’s the burnt edition. I would definitely watch your baking time. It’s obviously hard to tell when they’re done since they’re red, unbaked and baked, but don’t let ’em burn! Rookie mistake.

Make these now. You won’t regret it!

Some people may not believe that you could only carry four candy bars, but your hands *are* small [you know]…

Also, your space jokes may be tachyon this post… but I like’em!
